Description:

This project involves CEI services for the replacement of the structurally deficient SR 373 (Orange Avenue) Bridge over the St. Marks Bike Trail. American was responsible for all aspects of field inspection of bridges, roadway, utilities, and assisting with the documentation and tracking of testing and quantity calculation. In addition to the replacement of the bridges, the roadway approaching each end of the bridge were reconstructed including drainage improvements, bike lanes and new sidewalk along the south side of SR 373. The Orange Avenue bridge is a prestressed flat slab bridges using an experimental Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) Foundation. The entire project from demolition of the existing bridge to completion of the new bridge was completed in 58 days which required double shifts, six days per week. The project included nearly ½ million dollar bonus for the early completion which made the documentation and contractor response critical. This project won a 2015 FTBA award for Quality Construction in the Alternative Contracting category.
