This project involves final design services to widen and reconstruct Old Dixie from Yamato Road to Linton Boulevard from two lanes to three lanes in each direction, approximately 3.1 miles. The existing typical section is a two-lane undivided roadway section that will be widened to three lanes with a 12-foot center turn lane, two 11-foot travel lanes, 4-foot paved outside shoulders/bicycle lanes, type F curb and gutter, and 5 to 6-foot concrete sidewalk on the east side. Right-of-way will be acquired to construct the project. Major work includes roadway reconstruction, widening or replacing the bridge over SFWMD C-15 canal, drainage improvements, and right-of-way acquisition. Additional tasks include survey and mapping, traffic/signalization, geotechnical, utility coordination, environmental, and permitting. The project will include coordination with the FEC railroad, City of Delray Beach, and the City of Boca Raton.
