American managed all aspects of the preliminary and final design and analysis for this 3.9-mile widening project, from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban highway. The project development and environment (PD&E) study included the analysis of conceptual design improvements along Lutz Lake Fern Road, which included the development of interim improvements to coincide with the addition of a new high school near the existing elementary and middle schools, a new school entrance and coordination with the new interchange connection with the Suncoast Parkway proposed by the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. Services included enhanced public involvement using graphic imaging, extensive utility coordination, right-of-way mapping, right-of-way appraisals and cost estimates, traffic analysis and modeling, preliminary engineering, environmental analysis and documentation, public involvement and the preparation of 30% conceptual design plans.
