SR 70 at US 441 Intersection

Client: FDOT District 1

Location: Okeechobee, Florida

Construction Value: Estimated $3,101,727

Completion Date: Estimated 2015

American is providing right of way mapping for the proposed improvements to the corridor including the widening on all four approaches to provide dual left-turn lanes. Along US 441, existing pavement marking for the parking lanes will be removed, as well as the existing grass median. The through lanes will be pushed to the outside and widening will occur in the existing grass median. A traffic separator will be placed for opposing traffic patterns on US 441. SR 70 widening will occur on the south side within Flagler Park, which will result in approximately 26.5 feet of additional right-of-way. The eastbound traffic will utilize these new lanes. Westbound traffic will remain in its current location. The signal will also be upgraded and numerous driveways and sidewalk will need to be updated to current American’s with Disabilities Act standards.
