I-75 (SR93) from Pasco/Hernando County Line to South of US 98/SR 50/Cortez Boulevard Design-Build

American served as the prime design firm for this design-build project and provided engineering and design for widening 5.4 miles of I-75 from an existing four-lane divided rural interstate to a six-lane rural interstate with 12-foot shoulders (10-foot paved) and consideration for future eight- and ten-lane widening. This involved designing one lane in each direction, increasing vertical clearance for two existing bridge structures, enhancing horizontal sight distance, providing cross slope correction, milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, stormwater management facilities, ITS improvements, and floodplain compensation areas. American also provided design for the extension of eight box culverts, including a 15-foot by 12-foot cattle crossing. Other miscellaneous structures on this project included DMS sign truss, CCTV poles, and a conveyor system. The project also included support services such as public involvement, hazardous materials, right of way, utility coordination, and environmental permitting.
