I-75 (SR 93 / Alligator Alley) Northside Rest Area CEI

This $11.5- million project involved performing the CEI for the installation of a new rest area building, associated facilities, and interstate connections on the north side of I-75 directly across from the rest area on the south side of I-75 (Alligator Alley). The project also included milling and resurfacing the asphalt, the south side rest area pavement, and reconfiguring the ingres/egress and parking facilities.

The project features included a reverse osmosis water treatment plant and associated water delivery to the nearby fire station, concrete pavement due to the heavy truck traffic and unstable ground conditions, sidewalks, trails, ITS integrations, highway lighting meeting "Dark Sky" requirements, significant landscaping, picnic pavilions, signage, striping, lift station construction, and the construction of a maintenance building in addition to the rest area building.
