Tom King Bayou Bridge

Tom King Bayou Bridge was a LAP project with FDOT District 3 and Santa Rosa County. The pedestrian bridge connects the multi-use path that travels along East Bay Boulevard from Hwy. 98 to Hwy. 87 and creates a protected pedestrian feature to cross Tom King Bayou. To minimize impacts to surrounding wetlands and eliminate the need to bring in extensive fill, an approach boardwalk was constructed leading up to the main crossing. The main crossing consists 100-foot single span, prefabricated truss. This project also included close coordination with utility owners within the project limits and the structure design was completed to avoid any impacts. Permitting though FDEP and USACE, hydraulic analysis, geotechnical investigation, survey, and subsurface utility investigation was also completed.
