Last week, our Pace office participated in Northwest Florida’s Construction Career Days. We presented a learning lab on roadway geometrics using a roundabout printout that was provided by AIM Engineering & Surveying, Inc. Students learned basic concepts of horizontal and vertical curvature, typical sections, and intersection concepts—roundabouts versus 4-way stops. Students were then able to try their hands at maneuvering around a roundabout by racing cars on a track with varying curvature/superelevation and building typical sections.
