American is a Major Subconsultant on I-275/I-4 Downtown Interchange Design-Build Project!

American Consulting Professionals, LLC, as a major subconsultant to DRMP, Inc., is teamed with Lane Construction Corporation on the $233 million highway construction design-build project to improve the safety and traffic operations of the I-275/I-4 Downtown Tampa Interchange.

The project limits currently serve nearly 200,000 drivers each day. The design-build project improvements will enhance regional connectivity by providing efficient traffic movements and improve the flow of traffic. Ramps will be widening and local roads will be improved, as well as pedestrian safety – with new technology at crosswalks and connections to the existing trail network.

Since community involvement is an important part of FDOT’s plan, special attention to the historic community’s requests have resulted in several enhancements such as accommodating multi-modal users, aesthetic treatments, tree preservation, greenspace replacements, and noise barrier walls.

American’s role includes all design elements along I-275, Ramp EN, and westbound I-4 from the bridge over Floribraska Avenue to the bridge over N. Avenida República de Cuba (N. 14th Street) and reconfigurations and enhancements to interstate and local roads including pedestrian safety improvements; noise barrier/bridge replacements; and drainage ponds, pipe systems, and inlets.

Once finished, this interchange will better serve its role as one of the main hurricane evacuation routes for the Tampa Bay area.
